Overview

Blue Origin is seeking a Sr. Embedded Software Engineer to develop flight software and tools for the New Glenn avionics organization, contributing to safety-critical real-time embedded software for a reusable heavy-lift launch vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop flight software and tools for various spaceflight systems.
  • Contribute to all aspects of safety-critical real-time embedded software development.
  • Work on vehicle avionics and ground systems, handling requirements, design, implementation, integration and testing of software components.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related subject area.
  • 8+ years of experience writing software in C, C++, and Python.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software, kernel development, BSPs or other systems software components.
  • Solid understanding of operating systems and network protocols.
  • Experience working with real-time systems and developing software that interfaced directly with hardware and programmable logic.

Bonus Points

  • M.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related field.
  • Experience with safety-critical software development in aerospace, automotive or other industries.
  • Working knowledge of control systems.
