Firmware Manager — Audio
Overview
Corsair is seeking a Firmware Manager to lead and mentor an audio firmware team and own audio firmware architecture and technical direction for gaming peripheral products.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor an audio firmware team including task planning, technical guidance, and performance management
- Own audio firmware architecture and technical direction for gaming peripheral products
- Oversee development of audio protocols (USB, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz wireless), DSP control, codecs, and latency optimization
- Collaborate with hardware and acoustic teams on bring-up, tuning, and validation of audio systems
- Drive firmware quality through code reviews, debugging, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement
- Track and report development progress to the project manager and product team members
- Generate FRD, test protocols, and related documentation
- Coordinate with the Validation team on test strategies, validation criteria, and issue triage
- Ensure on-time delivery aligned with NPI schedules and milestone commitments
- Communicate technical status, risks, and trade-offs to cross-functional and executive stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of embedded firmware development experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role
- Strong background in audio firmware for consumer or gaming devices (USB Audio, Bluetooth Audio, wireless audio systems)
- Experience with MCUs, SoCs, RTOS, DSPs, and low-level driver development
- Solid understanding of audio concepts including sampling, latency, synchronization, echo cancellation, and noise processing
- Proven ability to manage multi-project priorities in a fast-paced consumer electronics environment
- English communication skills for collaboration with global teams and partners
Preferred
- Experience in the gaming peripheral industry
- Experience with CI/CD for embedded systems (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Familiarity with power profiling tools and energy-aware design
