Embedded Software Engineer 1
Overview
Garmin is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer 1 to build upon existing software solutions to develop basic software for Garmin products and applications.
Responsibilities
- Perform new product and application software design, development, and maintenance using C, C++, C#, Java, assembly language, or other selected languages
- Troubleshoot basic issue reports, reproduce issues, evaluate technical cause, and implement and test software solutions
- Identify and resolve defects of basic scope using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers
- Apply design standards and procedures using appropriate engineering tools to document and implement basic designs
- Support on-call responsibilities as part of a rotating schedule for Garmin’s 24/7 operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics with cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule
- Demonstrated knowledge, education, experience, or training necessary to develop basic software in C, C++, C#, Java, assembly language, or other selected languages
Preferred
- Outstanding academics with cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5
- Previous work or internship experience in design, particularly for consumer products
