Embedded Software Consultant
Overview
Green Hills Software is seeking an Embedded Software Consultant to work closely with key customers to solve complex technical problems involving embedded software, real-time operating systems, and development tools.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers, developers, sales, and support engineers to solve challenging customer-reported issues
- Design creative solutions for complex problems
- Keep abreast of Green Hills technology and understand how to use new tools in customer development environments
- Write technical guides for internal and external distribution
- Recommend product improvements based on unique knowledge of customer product use
- Demonstrate that Green Hills Software is the leading expert in embedded systems
Work mode note: This role is listed as hybrid but may be restricted to onsite depending on customer needs and team requirements. Santa Barbara, CA presence is expected.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of programming experience in C and C++
- Ability to quickly learn and understand the inner workings of complex software systems
- Ability to quickly diagnose technical problems with limited information
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to experts from other domains
- Understanding of real-time operating system concepts
- Understanding of compilers, assemblers, linkers, and debuggers and their role in embedded software development
- Experience interacting with customers (pre-sales, support, etc.) helpful
- Understanding of networking concepts and their role in software systems helpful
