Field Services Engineer
Overview
Green Hills Software is seeking a Field Services Engineer to visit customer sites around the world to provide consulting and training services for Green Hills technology.
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver training classes for GHS technologies including the IDE, RTOSes, BSPs, device drivers, and middleware
- Visit customer sites worldwide to help them identify and solve problems in their applications
- Help customers create new BSPs and write device drivers for the INTEGRITY RTOS
- Adapt and customize GHS tools to integrate with customer design flows
- Troubleshoot and diagnose customer problems remotely
- Carry out design reviews with customers to help improve their designs
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in C and C++
- BS/MS in CS, ECE, Math, or equivalent, or 5+ years of experience in embedded software
- Ability to quickly learn and understand complex software systems
- Ability to diagnose technical problems with limited information in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Interest in traveling up to 50% of the time
- Experience interacting with customers (pre-sales, support, etc.) preferred
- Embedded experience with INTEGRITY, ThreadX, VxWorks, QNX, embedded Linux, or similar RTOSes preferred
- Experience writing BSPs, device drivers, or bringing up embedded operating systems preferred
- Technical teaching or public speaking experience preferred
This role involves up to 50% travel to customer sites worldwide.
