Overview

Keysight is seeking an R&D Firmware Engineer to design, develop, test, and debug embedded application software and firmware that drives controls and control systems for Keysight products.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex and high-impact design and development problems including customer application issues
  • Use product and customer applications knowledge to define, develop, and validate design concepts
  • Deliver high-quality, well-designed firmware for real-time embedded products as part of an Agile team
  • Debug issues and produce high-quality code to resolve them
  • Maintain and support products post-ship
  • Monitor industry trends for technological evolutions and leverage appropriate technology

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science with 8+ years of experience
  • Demonstrable fluency in C, C++, Python, and Assembly languages
  • Experience in embedded systems development using real-time OS such as VxWorks, uCOS, and embedded Linux
  • Experience with web development technologies
  • Computer architecture knowledge of x86 and ARM
  • Ability to read datasheets and schematics
  • Experience in board bring-up and validation
  • Experience with standard bus interfaces (I2C, PCIe, UART, USB)
  • Results-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments
  • Pro-active team member with good interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred

  • Proficiency in embedded Yocto Linux
  • Familiarity with Qt or QML development for GUI
  • Knowledge of AI and ML algorithms and technologies
  • Understanding of build systems and toolchains including cross-compilation
