R&D Software Engineer
Overview
Keysight is seeking an R&D Software Engineer to lead the design and development of embedded software and firmware drivers for precision measurement motion systems used in semiconductor manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of engineers to integrate corporate resources and develop best practices for laser interferometry applications
- Build robust embedded software and firmware drivers in C and C++ for precision measurement systems with unit and system-level testing
- Sustain released software codebases to ensure long-term reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration with analog and digital systems
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for build and test automation
- Present results clearly to peers, management, and cross-functional teams
- Ensure customer demands are met through responsive, high-quality software solutions
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation
- Apply best practices in embedded systems development and stay informed on industry trends
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 4-8 years of experience in embedded software development
- Strong proficiency in C and C++ with scripting in Bash or Python
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and embedded system architecture
- Familiarity with Unix-based development environments and Git version control
- Knowledge of build systems and Makefiles
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently toward project goals with general guidance
- Excellent organizational skills managing multiple fast-paced projects
- Strong communication skills across technical disciplines and stakeholder groups
Preferred
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
- Experience with RTOS such as VxWorks
- Experience and knowledge of C#
