Embedded Software Engineer
Overview
SAIC is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, integrate, and test embedded software and hardware for next-generation manned and unmanned armament combat systems supporting the U.S. Army’s DEVCOM Armament Center.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and integrate embedded software for robotic and wireless-controlled armament systems using C++ and Python.
- Conduct hands-on integration of vendor software and internally developed solutions onto tactical hardware platforms.
- Collaborate with vendors and program stakeholders to architect and refine solutions for next-generation manned and unmanned systems.
- Perform system-level testing and diagnostics in a lab environment, utilizing tools such as Wireshark for network analysis.
- Use and maintain version control repositories (Git) for source code and project documentation.
- Support field testing, system demonstrations, and user feedback sessions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and five (5)+ years of related experience; additional four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience in embedded programming with strong proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; no clearance required prior to hire.
- Must be a current U.S. citizen.
